Signature feature

The weird shape is the hook.

Most screenshot tools stop at rectangle. ShotLaunch makes the odd crop feel native: draw the outline, adjust the points, keep only the visual that matters and copy a shareable asset in seconds.

What it replaces

The annoying cleanup step after every screenshot.

No extra crop tool, no blur pass and no design file just to make a product update presentable. ShotLaunch keeps the last-mile polish inside the screenshot flow.

Capture

Every screenshot entry point

Full screen, selected area, window, timer and Shape capture live in the Mac menu bar.

Edit

Fast polish, not a design suite

Crop, shape, frame and refine the screenshot you already have. No layers, endless canvas or design file required.

Privacy

Clean sensitive details locally

Add black redaction or blur marks directly on the screenshot before it touches the clipboard.

Launch

Watermark and launch-ready context

Add a text or logo watermark, then prepare editable launch copy for Product Hunt, X, changelogs or email.

The workflow

Capture once. Make it ready to show.

The beta is intentionally focused: it sits in the menu bar, stores screenshots locally, and gives you the focused controls needed before copy or export.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

What ShotLaunch is for, how the beta works, and what is still being decided.

What is ShotLaunch?

ShotLaunch is a local-first macOS app for turning product screenshots into assets you can share when presenting or launching a SaaS. It brings capture, cropping, framing, redaction, watermarking, and launch copy into one focused workflow.

Who is ShotLaunch for?

It is for founders, makers, product marketers and designers who regularly need to show a digital product clearly. Launch assets are product screenshots prepared for a landing page, feature release, waitlist announcement, changelog or social post.

Why use it if macOS already takes screenshots?

macOS handles the capture. ShotLaunch handles the product-launch work that often comes next: shaping the interface, adding a frame, hiding sensitive details, applying a watermark, and preparing a feature release to communicate clearly.

Is ShotLaunch a replacement for Photoshop or Figma?

No. ShotLaunch is deliberately narrower: it helps you prepare a product interface screenshot quickly when it needs to be shown in a launch or product update. Complex design work, open-ended illustration and destructive editing belong in dedicated design tools.

What does local-first mean for my screenshots?

Your product screenshots do not need to be uploaded to a cloud service to use the core workflow. ShotLaunch keeps capture, editing, and the local library on your Mac rather than requiring cloud storage.

What is included in Free versus Pro?

Free covers essential capture, basic editing, and a local library for product screenshots. Pro adds Shape, visual treatments, watermarks and Launch Copy for people preparing launches and feature updates. Free remains useful for simpler product-update workflows.

How much will Pro cost?

The planned price is $5 USD per month or $39 USD per year. Pricing may be revisited as the beta develops, but that is the current direction for people who need the more advanced editing and presentation workflow.

What is the beta offer?

ShotLaunch is currently available through a beta waitlist. The first 50 people accepted into the beta will receive one year of Pro at no cost. Joining the waitlist signals interest; it does not guarantee beta access.

Will ShotLaunch work on my Mac?

ShotLaunch is being built for macOS. Exact macOS version requirements have not been announced, so the waitlist is best for people whose primary workflow is already on a Mac and who are comfortable following the product through beta.

Join the waitlist if you want a more focused product-launch workflow on your Mac.
